First Ski

Q&A

This session is dedicated to people of all ages who want to experience one of the best sports in the world while discovering the beauty of the French Alps.
We begin at the magic carpet of Jardin Alpin in Courchevel 1850, starting with basic walking on snow and gradually progressing to learning turns. Everyone learns at their own pace, so we take the time necessary for each individual.
The primary goal is to learn the basics of skiing and gain confidence on green slopes while mastering turns.
This is quite subjective and depends on your personal ideal achievement. Generally, we can progress from complete beginner to confidently skiing on green slopes within 1 to 2 days.
While the ideal age for learning is typically between 5 and 12 years old, skiing can be enjoyed at any age.
The more fit you are, the easier skiing will be. However, it's a coordination sport, and with the right technique, it can be less physically demanding than you might expect.
I have personally assisted several individuals over 60 who started from scratch. The only real limit is your overall health.
Warming up is essential, but the key is having an experienced instructor who can help prevent accidents. It might sound surprising, but at this level, the speed is slow, and with only one student, the instructor can closely monitor your movements.
For beginners, I recommend renting all equipment except for the ski suit, helmet, and gloves. As you progress, you’ll likely need different boots and skis with varying characteristics.
The ideal class size is one student for optimal attention and control. However, we can accommodate up to three people in a session.
